Privacy Policy

Short version: your calculator inputs never leave your device. We don't run accounts or forms. Our advertising partner, Google, may use cookies to show ads, and you can control that.

Who we are

CredoCalc (www.credocalc.com) is an independent website run by Khagen Patel. For any privacy question or request, email kp@khagen.io with the subject “Privacy Request”.

Information you enter into calculators

Every calculation runs in your web browser. The amounts, rates and other values you type are not sent to us or stored on our servers. If you use “Copy link to these results”, your inputs are written into the link after the # symbol. Browsers don't send that part of a link to a web server, so the values only travel where you share the link.

Information stored on your device

We save one preference in your browser's local storage: the currency you choose (for example cc-currency = AUD). It never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider's servers record standard technical logs when a page is requested: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running, and are kept for a limited period. We don't use them to identify individual visitors.

We use Google Search Console to understand how people find the site through Google Search. It reports aggregated search data and doesn't place cookies on your device.

Advertising and cookies

CredoCalc is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners are third-party vendors that use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads on this site based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time through the privacy options link that message provides. Where consent isn't given, Google may still serve non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Calculators keep working without cookies.

How we use information

  • To operate, secure and improve the website.
  • To show advertising that keeps the calculators free, as described above.
  • To reply when you email us. We keep your message only as long as needed to deal with it.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't build profiles of visitors ourselves.

Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)

We rely on your consent for advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interests in running a secure, working website for server logs. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

US state privacy rights (including California)

Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. CredoCalc doesn't sell personal information for money. The use of advertising cookies by Google may count as “sharing” under some laws. To opt out, use Google Ads Settings, enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email us with “Do Not Sell or Share” in the subject. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Australia, Canada and elsewhere

We handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, Canada's PIPEDA and similar laws. You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you (in practice, only emails you have sent us) by contacting us.

Children

CredoCalc is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

International transfers and security

Our hosting and Google's advertising services may process data in countries other than your own. The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS. Because we don't collect calculator data, there is very little personal information to protect in the first place.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if our practices change, and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
